Hello guys, and welcome once again to my blog, THE BOOK CORNER, and today we are here to tal about your favorite section:
THE BOOK OF THE WEEK.
This section is based on votes that I do on social networks, I am in charge of posting two books, and by public vote, I make a small review about my point of view of the book, and I add small comments that several of you have left me, I made this section so that other people can connect through their tastes.
This week, by request of many, the book chosen was the perks of being a hallflower, below, I will give some information about the book:
1. The date on which the book was originally published was February 1, 1999.
2. The book was written by Stephen Chbosky.
3. The book is not divided by chapters, it is divided by letters (will be explained later) written by the main character.
4. This book has its own film, released on September 21, 2012.
Now, after all this information, I will go on to say basically what the book is about:
The book is about a small part of the life of Charlie, a 15-year-old boy, who is shy, considered antisocial and quiet. He lives with his parents and his two brothers, but without a doubt his favorite person on earth is his aunt Helen, the person who loved him the most and saw him as a son, but one day, while his aunt is buying him a birthday present, Charlie, she has a car accident, generating great guilt in him. The book begins where Charlie says that he is going to start school, but when he gets to school, he cannot make friends, since his only friend has died due to a car accident, but then he meets Sam and Patrick, one of the coolest kids. acquaintances at school, these 2 characters are very important, since you make Charlie live what "true" adolescence is. But not in the bad sense, but with them he began to travel new paths, live adventures, go out to parties and have feelings for a girl for the first time. During the time in which he is living these new and wonderful adventures, he begins to write letters to have some memory of what his life was like in high school.
I read this book thanks to the great demand that was made for it on my social networks, and I have some reviews about it:
• To be honest, there were some parts of the book that I found boring, but in itself, I loved the story and it even left me with some morals, I never expected the ending, it has a hidden message, which is very sad, but you understand in the end because Charlie had those attitudes towards others.
It is shown at the end of the book, Charlie always suffered sexual abuse from his aunt Helen, and Charlie kept this secret for a long time because he did not know why his aunt harassed him so much, but caused him such great harm.
The book left me a great lesson, I have always said that you can draw a moral from everything, and mine would be that life has memorable, sad, mega happy moments or we simply exist, but that is the theme, live, leave the past back, to be happy and above all, to be ourselves, to make known our virtues and values, what other people tell us, we should not care, in the book it is excessive that many people stopped being themselves for the simple fact of wanting to fit in with a group of friends, and no, we should feel proud of who we are, that there will always be people who will accept you just the way you are, and that appearances make you nobody in life.
And well guys, this would be all for today's session, but first, I will leave some comments from you that you left me on my social networks, I hope to see you next week in…. The Book Corner!!!
bryand_gómez:
• It is my favorite book ever, the first time I read it, I felt very identified with the main character, we are both quiet and we don't have many friends.
